Closure Of Morpeth Crown Post Office

EDM number 845 in 2001-02, proposed by Denis Murphy on 12/02/2002.

That this House deplores the decision of Consignia to close its Crown Post Office in Morpeth which is one of only two Crown offices in Northumberland; is deeply concerned that this decision has been made with undue haste and without regard for the views of the people of Morpeth, the staff or the CWE; recognises that the Post Office staff have provided an excellent service for many years; and calls upon Consignia to listen to the views of local people and retain the Crown Post Office in its current location.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
