House Price Changes

EDM number 139 in 2002-03, proposed by Ashok Kumar on 19/11/2002.

That this House notes that while house prices in the UK as a whole have risen a massive 77.1 per cent. over the last five years, in the North East this figure is just 3.7 per cent.; recognises that without Government assistance these areas are likely to fall into disrepair and begin a cycle of decline; and calls on the Government to encourage businesses to relocate to the North East to take advantage of the area's many advantages and assist in the regeneration of the region.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
