Businesses In Northern Ireland

EDM number 1703 in 2002-03, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 17/09/2003.

That this House acknowledges that businesses in Northern Ireland have suffered particular adverse effects as a result of liability insurance premium increases as was recognised in the Office of Fair Trading Report into the liability insurance market; requests as a short-term measure that the UK Treasury uses the revenue generated by insurance premium tax to avert a growing crisis in the small business insurance market; and further recommends that the insurance premium tax should be used to provide a pool of employers' liability insurance.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
