Recognition Agreement Between Bt And Connect

EDM number 1881 in 2002-03, proposed by Bill Tynan on 06/11/2003.

That this House welcomes the historic partnership agreement between BT and Connect, the union for managers and professionals in communications, which represents the largest extension to collective representation since the Employment Relations Act came into force; notes that both parties should be congratulated on reaching such a positive and wide-ranging agreement which covers nearly every constituency in Britain; further notes that the agreement highlights the joint approach that the union and company have taken to forge a positive relationship in a fast-moving industry which is pivotal to the success of the British economy; and further welcomes the fact that this demonstrates that unions and companies can work together to the benefit of both their business and the workforce concerned.

This motion has been signed by a total of 30 MPs.
