That this House welcomes the prospect of an United Kingdom bid for the Olympic Games of 2012; accepts that London as the capital city should be the focus for such a bid; but urges its promoters to seize the opportunity to distribute a range of sports around the country in order to make the games accessible to as many people as possible, to share the economic and other benefits and to make best use of existing stadia and other sporting facilities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
