Job Centre Staff Cuts In London

EDM number 817 in 2002-03, proposed by John McDonnell on 04/03/2003.

That this House notes with considerable concern that the London region of Jobcentre Plus has announced that the number of staff working in its local office network in London is to be reduced by 680; expresses its anxiety that most of those staff are on fixed-term contracts, were previously unemployed and are thus now facing a return to unemployment; and further notes that many of those whose jobs are at risk are women and lone parents from ethnic minorities.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
