Government Recycling Targets

EDM number 1112 in 2003-04, proposed by Anne McIntosh on 04/05/2004.

That this House notes the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' Municipal Waste Statistics 2002-03 released on 29th April; is concerned that household recycling has only increased by two per cent. in the past year, while household and municipal waste creation continues to increase; does not believe that the Government is on course to reach its target of 25 per cent. household waste recyling by 2005; and challenges the Government to announce what steps it will now take to reach that target.

This motion has been signed by a total of 43 MPs.
