The Jilbab And Religious Freedom
EDM number 1364 in 2003-04, proposed by Tony Banks on 17/06/2004.
That this House abhors all forms of religious fundamentalism and bigotry but regrets the ruling by the High Court to uphold a ban on the wearing of the Jilbab by a Muslim schoolgirl; regards the ban as an infringement of personal and religious freedom; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to seek ways to overturn the decision.
This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
