Opal Property Group And Television Reception In Rusholme

EDM number 150 in 2003-04, proposed by Gerald Kaufman on 27/11/2003.

That this House deplores the manner in which building blocks constructed by Opal Property Group continue to interfere with television reception by local residents; deplores further the discourtesy to those residents caused by Opal Property Group's failure to respond to a series of letters sent to them by the Right honourable Member for Manchester, Gorton since July; notes that Opal Property Group is perfectly happy to make money out of students by constructing residential blocks, no doubt to its considerable profit, in many neighbourhoods of the Manchester, Gorton Constitutency without in any way acknowledging its community responsibilities; calls on Opal Property Group without further delay to rectify the adverse impact on local residents; and further calls upon Manchester City Council to refuse all future planning applications by Opal Property Group should the group fail to take the necessary action.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
