Bt Payphone Closures In Ceredigion

That this House notes the proposals of British Telecom to close 89 of the 265 public pay phones in Ceredigion, a third of current provision; further notes that many of those being removed are located near rural beaches and in areas where there is no mobile phone reception, is dismayed that BT announced their programme for consultation on 29th July with a closing date of 9th September; believes that a consultation over August does not allow community councils nor the public to respond fully; and calls upon BT and Ceredigion County Council to extend the period of consultation until 22nd October.
