One Hundred Years Of Shettleston Harriers
EDM number 1702 in 2003-04, proposed by David Marshall on 11/10/2004.
That this House congratulates Shettleston Harriers on reaching their centenary; recognises that during that time they established themselves as one of Scotland's, and, at times, Britain's, foremost clubs; notes that they produced many notable athletes, including many medal winners and champions, as well as encouraging many thousands of people to participate in running both competitively and for fun; further notes that their contribution to Glasgow as a whole has been recognised by Glasgow City Council giving them a civic reception; is pleased to note that the club is still vibrant and well prepared; and extends good wishes for another successful 100 years.
