Retention Of Police Reserve In Northern Ireland
EDM number 539 in 2003-04, proposed by David Burnside on 03/02/2004.
That this House recognises the essential requirement for the retention of the full-time police reserve in Northern Ireland owing to the continued terrorist threat and widespread criminality in all sections of the community; calls on Her Majesty's Government to resist attempts to weaken policing by phasing out the full-time reserve next year; and commits itself to retaining the service of the reserve until its officers come to the end of their natural careers.
