Renewables Targets

EDM number 783 in 2003-04, proposed by Stephen O'Brien on 04/03/2004.

That this House notes that the Government's targets for producing electricity from renewable sources are 10.4 per cent. by 2010, 15.4 per cent. by 2015 and 20 per cent. by 2020; but notes that the present target of just 3 per cent. is not being met, with the most recent figure achieved being only 1.8 per cent.; and calls upon the Government to explain how it plans to reach these higher targets given the present low capacity of renewable generators.

This motion has been signed by a total of 51 MPs.
