The Future Of The Scottish Regiments

EDM number 159 in 2004-05, proposed by Iain Luke on 24/11/2004.

That this House notes that no formal decision as to the future configuration of the Scottish Regiments within the British Army has been taken; welcomes the proposals by the Keep our Scottish Battalions campaign to link the Scottish regiments in a brigade structure in Scotland safeguarding as a result their individual identities, histories and traditions; and urges the Army Board, General Jackson and the Government to abandon their intentions to submerge the current regimental setup in a new Royal Regiment of Scotland super regiment.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
