Health Services In Huddersfield And Calderdale

That this House notes the consultation on health services in Calderdale and Huddersfield being conducted by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust and the Huddersfield and South Huddersfield Primary Care Trusts; calls upon the trusts to ensure the provision of full maternity services, with midwives backed up by physicians in Huddersfield; urges the trusts to reconsider plans to transfer maternity, obstetrics and paediatric services to Calderdale Royal Hospital; and calls on them to prioritise the health and wellbeing of mothers and children by ensuring they have access to full specialist maternity services in Huddersfield.
