Crosthwaite Exchange
EDM number 1456 in 2005-06, proposed by Timothy Farron on 24/01/2006.
That this House congratulates the Crosthwaite Exchange Committee on the establishment of the Crosthwaite exchange, a weekly coffee morning run by members to keep village spirit alive and bring more fair trade products to the village; notes with regret the closure of Crosthwaite village shop and post office which has forced villagers to travel much further to collect supplies and pensions; and hopes that the Crosthwaite exchange will go on to become a country market and will continue to be a much needed focal point in this rural community.
