State Funding Of Political Parties
EDM number 1869 in 2005-06, proposed by Geraldine Smith on 21/03/2006.
That this House welcomes the review into the funding of political parties which is long overdue; notes that state funding of political parties has been mentioned as a possible solution; further notes that this would be highly unpopular with the British public; and therefore calls on the Government to ensure that a referendum is held before any such proposal is implemented.
This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
