Severn Trent Water

EDM number 2331 in 2005-06, proposed by Peter Soulsby on 08/06/2006.

That this House welcomes the decision by the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) to impose financial penalties on Severn Trent Water for its performance failures; urges Ofwat to ensure that this fine is met from the recently announced excessive profits of the company or from directors' fees and not by its long-suffering and dissatisfied customers; and encourages Ofwat to continue its investigation into the activities of this company with a unique record of leaking pipes, prosecutions for pollution and bills that have been inflated by its mis-statement of financial data.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
