Physiotherapists In Northern Ireland

EDM number 2503 in 2005-06, proposed by Iris Robinson on 04/07/2006.

That this House congratulates the physiotherapy graduates from the year 2006 who volunteered their services at the recent Special Olympics Ireland Games; notes that despite increased demand for physiotherapy services few graduates will secure a junior physiotherapist post because of financial cuts; recognises that this is a waste of the four years and £28,500 it has cost to train each graduate; and calls on the Department of Health in Northern Ireland to bring to an end such a waste of money and explore means of ensuring that planned junior physiotherapy posts are made available again.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
