Reading Station Upgrade
EDM number 2810 in 2005-06, proposed by Robert Wilson on 19/10/2006.
That this House notes the national rail bottleneck caused by Reading Station, resulting in inconvenience and frustration for passengers travelling throughout the entire national rail network; further notes Network Rail's desire to spend the £125 million necessary to relieve the congestion caused by the existing signalling, platforms and track numbers; understands that Network Rail only requires approval from the Department for Transport to spend money that has been allocated from its budget; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to make an early announcement of his approval for this project.
This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
