Stoke-On-trent Academic Results

EDM number 867 in 2005-06, proposed by Joan Walley on 26/10/2005.

That this House congratulates Stoke-on-Trent schools for achieving the best GCSE results ever; congratulates those youngsters who have achieved these outstanding results; notes that 47 per cent. of the city's young people were awarded five or more higher grades, which has risen from 31 per cent. in 1997; and calls on all involved in education in Stoke-on-Trent to ensure that education contributes to the ongoing regeneration of the city.
