Car Industry On Wearside

EDM number 1110 in 2006-07, proposed by Fraser Kemp on 13/03/2007.

That this House welcomes the success of the car industry on Wearside and notes that it contains the most productive car plant in the UK for the seventh year running; welcomes the fact that 4.5 million cars have been built in Sunderland; further notes that several new ranges have been added to the car manufacturers' production line; and further welcomes the fact that one in every five cars built last year in the UK was built in the Sunderland Nissan factory.
