SUNDERLAND CITY COUNCIL'S CYCLING STRATEGY

EDM number 505 in 2006-07, proposed by Fraser Kemp on 14/12/2006.

That this House praises Sunderland City Council for their award of the Green Apple Environmental Award for the cycling network in Sunderland; notes that a local development of cycle networks both helps the health of the local population and cuts down on pollution; congratulates Sunderland City's councillors for their far-sighted plans to raise the number of kilometres of cycle paths from 20 in 1997 to 100 by 2007 and to 200 kilometres by 2011; and welcomes the national award for Sunderland City Council.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
