Passport Interview Centre In Taunton

EDM number 957 in 2006-07, proposed by Jeremy Browne on 22/02/2007.

That this House regrets that Taunton has not been allocated one of the 69 designated centres where people can attend an interview for a new passport; notes that Taunton is the county town of Somerset; recognises that Taunton has the largest population of any town in Somerset; further recognises that many people from other towns, including Wellington, Bridgwater and Minehead, frequently visit Taunton for work or other reasons; and believes that, leaving aside the merits or otherwise of the policy of passport interviews, people in Taunton Deane and surrounding areas should be spared the considerable inconvenience and expense of travelling to Yeovil, Barnstaple, Bristol or Exeter by having a passport interview centre located in Taunton.

This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
