Right To Pray In A Mosque

EDM number 2479 in 2007-08, proposed by Harry Cohen on 11/11/2008.
Categorised under the topic of Religion and faith communities.

That this House notes the details of the bail order made by Mr Justice Mitting and countersigned by Abu Qatada, as reported on the Daily Telegraph website; notes that amongst the 22 conditions is the condition that Abu Qatada is banned from attending any mosque; can understand concern over a cleric speaking or communicating without supervision which could lead to violence, but considers that this ban on the right to attend and pray at a place of worship goes too far, is fundamentally anti-British and amounts to religious persecution; and therefore calls for this condition of Abu Qatada's bail to be revoked.

This motion has been signed by a total of 4 MPs.
