Drinking Wine With A Meal

EDM number 2246 in 2008-09, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 09/11/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Alcoholism.

That this House believes that drinking wine with an evening meal is a responsible way of consuming alcohol and is a good example in British drinking culture; further believes that the suggestion that offering wine with two person meal deals in shops normalises heavy drinking is wrongheaded; and urges co-operation between all parties in the alcohol debate to tackle the behaviour of the minority of the population who misuse alcohol rather than intervening in the habits of moderate consumers.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
