Oldham East And Saddleworth Campaign

That this House condemns the election literature of the former MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, Phil Woolas; believes that the campaign literature from Mr Woolas deliberately tried to stir up racial tensions in an area that saw race riots in 2001; further condemns the actions of members of the Labour Party who are defending the actions of Mr Woolas; feels that all hon. Members of this House have an obligation to condemn thosewho seek to stir up racial tensions; and calls on the Labour Party to apologise to the people of Oldham East and Saddleworth for their campaign in May.
