That this House notes that salaries in the top 15 banks have risen by 36 per cent. in the last year, according to a survey conducted for the Financial Times; further notes that this is seven times the rate of inflation; also notes that the average earnings increase in the UK pay was 1.8 per cent. or one third of the rate of inflation; and calls on the banks to show a genuine period of remorse, apology and restraint.
