That this House notes the rising cost of fuel with special note that diesel has risen to over 1.60 perlitrein Northern Ireland; understands that people cannot sustain such increases; calls on the Government to bring about a fuel stabiliser as a matter of urgency and effect immediate steps working with oil companies and retailers to ensure that the price of fuel begins to decrease and stabilise all over the UK; and further calls on the Chancellor of the Exchequer to reconsider the proposed three pence increase in August.
