Wirral Peninsula

EDM number 540 in 2010-12, proposed by Alison McGovern on 19/07/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Cultural heritage.

That this House celebrates the cultural heritage of the Wirral Peninsula and all those who work to preserve it; expresses concern that a register of historical buildings on Wirral has not been completed despite Wirral Council having agreed to its creation in consultation with the Wirral History and Heritage Association; notes that 156,071,758 has been awarded by the Lottery Heritage Fund to the North West in the last five years; further notes with concern that Wirral has received only 0.85 per cent. of the regional amount; and calls on the Government to take steps to support Wirral in perserving its cultural heritage given the possibility of boosting Wirral's economy through tourism.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
