That this House recognises the fifth anniversary of the Scotland-Malawi partnership; welcomes the important role played by Scottish organisations in Malawi; notes the historic links between the two countries, initiated by the discovery of Malawi by Blantyre's David Livingstone; welcomes the research undertaken by the University of Edinburgh which found that at least 1.3 million Malawians and 280,000 Scots have benefited from the partnership in the last year; and urges all to sign the partnership's pledge of support.
