Challenge Poverty Week

EDM number 432 in 2017-19, proposed by Chris Stephens on 18/10/2017.
Categorised under the topic of Incomes and poverty.

That this House recognises Challenge Poverty Week 2017; congratulates the hundreds of organisations taking part in anti poverty work across Scotland; notes that real poverty exists in Scotland today but can be solved by boosting incomes and lowering costs; furthermore acknowledges that as part of this the freeze on benefits should be ended in the upcoming budget; and believes that everyone has a role to play in tackling poverty.
