Gas Imports And Exports

EDM number 1045 in 2012-13, proposed by George Galloway on 06/02/2013.
Categorised under the topics of International trade and Oil, petrol and natural gas.

That this House calls on the Government to ensure that Britain does not export gas at a lower price than it is importing it; notes that any analysis of gas flow by The Guardian newspaper and Greenpeace found that in the coldest months from December to February when gas demand is greatest gas was exported to the continent despite the wholesale price in Britain being higher on four out of five days; further notes that the regulator Ofgem suggests that our energy security is being undermined by this distortion in the market; and insists that the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change takes steps to ensure that this will never happen again.

This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
