Pupil Places In South Manchester

EDM number 1070 in 2012-13, proposed by John Leech on 12/02/2013.
Categorised under the topics of Local government and Schools.

That this House welcomes the coalition Government's allocation of an additional 600 million to local councils to tackle the shortfall of available pupil places; recognises that this has meant an extra 12.5 million for Manchester on top of the 15.1 million that has already been allocated; notes that the number of primary school places in South Manchester has failed to keep apace with rises in the local population; further recognises that parents in some parts of South Manchester often struggle to find places in any local school, nevermind the school of their choice; and therefore calls on Manchester City Council to respond to the needs of local children by building a new primary school in South Manchester.

This motion has been signed by a total of 2 MPs.
