President Lugo Of Paraguay
EDM number 271 in 2012-13, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 26/06/2012.
Categorised under the topics of International politics and government and Latin America.
That this House condemns the removal of President Lugo of Paraguay from office by the nation's senate; notes that the administration of Frederico Franco lacks any democratic legitimacy and that the move has been condemned by many Latin American governments; further notes that ever since his election President Lugo has faced huge opposition from wealthy and powerful forces that opposed his policies of social justice and land redistribution; and therefore calls for the restoration of democracy in Paraguay.
This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
