Stockton Insolvency Service

EDM number 300 in 2012-13, proposed by Alex Cunningham on 02/07/2012.
Categorised under the topic of Insolvency.

That this House recognises the tremendous service provided by the staff of the Insolvency Service in Stockton on Tees to people from throughout the Tees Valley and large parts of North Yorkshire and County Durham and that the service is depended on by an increasing number of people who need help and advice when they are at their most vulnerable, both financially and emotionally and who cannot afford the huge costs of travelling to Tyneside, the proposed new location for this service; notes the petition signed by nearly two thousand people in support of the service; and therefore calls on the Government to drop its plans to close the service in Stockton on Tees.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
