That this House congratulates the Hannah Mitchell Foundation on its recent parliamentary launch; notes that over 50 hon. Members and Peers and interested people were in attendance; recognises that the campaign for regional government for the North and other regions has considerable and growing support; praises the Hannah Mitchell Foundation for leading the way in ensuring this issue is high on the political agenda; urges the Government to take this issue seriously and acknowledge that the campaign for regional government is gathering momentum; and further recognises that the growing economic and social inequalities between the North and the South means that effective regional government in Yorkshire and Humberside, the North West and the North East is now needed more than ever.
