Privatisation Of Education Support Services In Staffordshire

EDM number 809 in 2012-13, proposed by Joan Walley on 04/12/2012.
Categorised under the topics of Local government and Schools.

That this House expresses concern about Staffordshire County Council's insistence on pressing ahead with a joint venture with Capita as the preferred bidder for education support services; notes that a recent report of APSE Solutions recommends that the council carries out a strategic options appraisal for the future provision of its education support services; further notes that the council's Prosperity, Skills and Education Scrutiny Committee considered the proposal before the business case had been published; and calls on the county council to meet all stakeholders, including trades unions, with a view to reconsidering this decision.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
