King's Hill Development Proposals

EDM number 1219 in 2015-16, proposed by Jim Cunningham on 08/03/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Housing and Planning.

That this House notes with concern the proposals by Warwickshire District Council to give planning permission for the building of hundreds of new homes on green belt land in the King's Hill area adjacent to Coventry; further notes the housing shortage both nationally and across the West Midlands along with the urgent need to find suitable plots for future housing developments; notes the environmental significance of the King's Hill site and the importance of preserving green belt land and preferentially developing brown belt sites wherever possible; calls on the Government to review the adequacy of existing planning laws and green belt sites; and further calls for Warwickshire District Council to consider other development proposals away from green belt and other protected land.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
