Apology For The Flooding Of Capel Celyn

EDM number 529 in 2015-16, proposed by Liz Saville Roberts on 15/10/2015.
Categorised under the topics of Flooding and Regional planning and development.

That this House regrets the loss suffered by the people of Capel Celyn, North Wales, whose village was flooded 50 years ago by Liverpool County Council; notes the significance of this event to the people of Wales, and how this injustice energised national consciousness; and calls on the Government to apologise for the 1957 Act of Parliament which allowed Liverpool to act without the consent of Welsh planning authorities and in the face of unanimous opposition from Welsh Members of Parliament.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
