Closure Of The Michelin Tyre Factory In Ballymena

EDM number 662 in 2015-16, proposed by Ian Paisley Jnr on 05/11/2015.
Categorised under the topic of Manufacturing industries.

That this House expresses grave concern about the closure of the Michelin Tyre Factory in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, which has been in operation since 1969 and will result in the loss of more than 860 jobs; acknowledges the need for constructive talks and to ensure that the employees facing this devastating news receive the best possible packages as well as receiving all the help they can be offered in securing future employment; and notes that this is extremely disappointing news for the wider Ballymena area and will have a detrimental impact on the local economy.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
