Personal Independence Payments And Access To ATOS In West Yorkshire

EDM number 714 in 2015-16, proposed by Jo Cox on 17/11/2015.
Categorised under the topics of Benefits policy and Sickness, disability and carers' benefits.

That this House recognises that many of those claiming personal independence payment are among the most vulnerable, disabled and ill people within our society and that large numbers of them cannot reasonably spend up to three hours travelling in a day; notes that the district of Kirklees, with 440,000 residents, has no ATOS assessment centre while there are soon to be seven in neighbouring authorities; believes those undergoing medical assessment should have appropriate and easy access to ATOS; and calls on the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to use his good offices to encourage ATOS to open an assessment centre in Kirklees.

This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
