New Chief Executive Of The Scotch Whisky Association

That this House notes that the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), which represents the iconic industry globally, has announced the appointed of a new chief executive, Karen Betts, who will take up her position on 19 May 2017; understands that Ms Betts will become the first female chief executive of the SWA in its 105 year history which is a very positive appointment that sends a strong message out to young women across Scotland and the wider UK; wishes Ms Betts well in her new position; and looks forward to building a strong working relationship to ensure that this vitally important industry continues to grow globally.
