Appointment Of A Trade Union Representative To The Monetary Policy Committee Of The Bank Of England

EDM number 693 in 2016-17, proposed by John Mann on 17/11/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Financial institutions and Industrial relations.

That this House notes that trade unions are not currently represented on either of the Bank of England's policy committees; believes that this lessens the ability of the Bank to fully understand and anticipate the UK economy; and therefore calls on the Government to appoint a trade union representative to the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England at the earliest opportunity.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
