Naylor Report

EDM number 108 in 2017-19, proposed by Rachael Maskell on 03/07/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Health finance and Health services.

That this House notes how the Naylor Report encourages the sale of the NHS estate in order to generate resources for the NHS, and how, under the Sustainability and Transformation Plans, closures will be encouraged to free up capital as set out under this report; is deeply concerned that decisions to close NHS facilities in order to generate revenue will be prioritised over the need for local and accessible health services; and expresses concern that NHS assets which were once gifted by the community, like Bootham Park Hospital in York and its grounds, will be sold to private developers for profit, rather than prioritised for use as a community asset if no longer required by the NHS.
