That this House deplores the scathing and unprovoked attack on the Sikh community, their religion, culture and tradition contained in the Sunday Telegraph article, Madness Under the Turban, published on 29th January; considers it vitriolic nonsense with racist overtones which a reputable national newspaper should never have printed; notes that the Sikh community has a high reputation to be law abiding, brave, well disciplined and hard working; and calls on the Sunday Telegraph to print an apology and dissociate itself from the vicious and distorted views express by the said reporter.
