Sport Of Ice Hockey

That this House expresses its satisfaction at the growth of ice hockey as a major sport in the UK; pays tribute to the success of the participating clubs in producing huge excitement and audience stimulation; pays tribute in particular to the astonishing achievement of the Ayr Scottish Eagles which, in its second year in existence, has won all the major ice hockey trophies including the Superleague Championship, the Alamo Play Offs Championship, the Benson and Hedges Cup and the Express Cup; and offers its congratulations to the Club, its Chairman Bill Barr, OBE, its team boss Jim Lynch, its players, its fans and everyone associated with the Ice Rink in Prestwick.
