Aboriginal Children In Australia

EDM number 139 in 1997-98, proposed by Fraser Kemp on 18/06/1997.

That this House endorses the report by Sir Ronald Wilson, President of Australia's Human Rights Commission, which concluded that the Australian Government should apologise for the genocide of an estimated 100,000 aboriginal children taken forcibly from their families and placed into white foster homes; and calls on the Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, to act on the findings and issue an apology.
