M25 And Terminal 5

EDM number 241 in 1997-98, proposed by Andrew Mackinlay on 14/07/1997.

That this House believes environmental protection and a shift from road to rail as part of an integrated transport strategy must be put before the desire of BAA and British Airways for 12-lane superhighway access to the proposed Terminal 5 at Heathrow by means of a widened M25; and believes that no decision to give the go-ahead for the M25 scheme between junctions 12 and 15 should be taken without the full rigours and scrutiny of a public inquiry at which opponents of the plan have a fair opportunity to express their view.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
