CND's 40TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR

That this House congratulates the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament on its 40 years of tireless campaigning to rid the world of nuclear weapons; notes that 59 per cent. of the British electorate support their views and that 87 per cent. wish to see Britain helping to negotiate a global treaty to prohibit and eliminate nuclear weapons; applauds the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament for its continued work in opposing Trident and in continually exposing the true political, social, economic and environmental costs of nuclear weapons production and deployment; and wishes CND every success for the future.
